House Democrats have published a additional set of what they termed "alarming" photographs from the property of adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The first release of 19 images—some of which have been seen before—combined with another 70 issued later on Friday account for a tiny fraction of the almost 100,000 images handed over to the House oversight committee, which is probing the conduct and connections of Epstein.
The fallen money manager was a victim of apparent suicide in a New York jail cell in 2019 after being indicted on sex-trafficking charges.
Among the prominent personalities shown in the first release are public figures including film director Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin conglomerate.
Donald Trump is featured in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is photographed with six women, whose faces are redacted.
The White House addressed the release in a statement, alleging Democrats of selectively "choosing" the images for electoral motives and to "try and create a false account."
"The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been consistently disproven," an administration official stated, asserting that "the current government has achieved more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have at any point by repeatedly calling for disclosure, disclosing thousands of pages of records, and urging more inquiries into Epstein's Democratic associates."
The photos were released without context, but as stated by a Democratic representative from California and senior member of the oversight committee, they elicit additional doubts about Epstein's connections to affluent people.
"It is time to halt this White House cover-up and secure justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful friends," he declared in a release.
The release of these images comes as the House panel proceeding with its probe into the affair.
