Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four Grand Slams this year.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has withdrawn from her final two events of the year because of a health issue that has affected her over the past 10 days.

The 22-year-old was due to play in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to recover before starting plans for the 2026 season.

These plans will involve trainer Francisco Roig, as the pair have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

The tennis professional required blood pressure checks in her opening round with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She needed once more medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Her movement was noticeably restricted in the final set in the match with Zhu owing to a lower back issue that has affected her at times this year.

These outcomes signaled a promising season, in which she climbed into the world's top 30 after a long gap since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month.

She secured 28 victories this year and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami Open in March.

The British number one advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in a three-set match to the world number four Pegula.

She was coached by Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in in time for the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was for the remainder of the year but the partnership will continue, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that her three-day trial with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in August's Cincinnati tournament.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage before being beaten by Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
