Dallas Cowboys Defensive Lineman Marshawn Kneeland Dies at Age 24

Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Marshawn Kneeland has died aged 24.

The Cowboys selected the Cowboys in the second round of the draft in the 2024 NFL Draft and played 18 times for the team, with four starting appearances.

He recorded his initial touchdown in the Tuesday game to the Arizona Cardinals when he recovered a blocked punt.

"He was a cherished team member and member of our organisation," the Dallas Cowboys said.

"Our thoughts and prayers regarding Marshawn are with his partner Catalina and his family."

Kneeland was selected by Dallas with the 56th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft after playing college football for Western Michigan University.

His agent, Jonathan Perzley, said his "heart aches" for the loss of the athlete who "gave his all" into every moment.

"I watched him fight his way from a aspiring young man at Western Michigan with a goal to being a esteemed pro for the Dallas Cowboys," Perzley commented.

The NFL said it is "deeply saddened" by the news.
