Emails Uncover Jeffrey Epstein and Steve Bannon Relationship

In November 2018, Steve Bannon, previously Donald Trump's chief strategist, visited the UK preparing for a speech at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The speech was interrupted by numerous demonstrators, and Bannon, who was due to travel that night, told Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Activists delayed my talk don't think I can catch the plane we r enroute to the airport".

Epstein responded: "That. Is a gulf air that leaves at 950 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "You are an excellent assistant".

These messages were released on Wednesday alongside more than 20,000 pages from the estate of Epstein, the deceased financier convicted of sex crimes.

The disclosure by the Congressional committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's identity is redacted. The BBC managed to confirm his identity by matching the dates, events, and locations referenced.

For example, Epstein discusses arranging a jet from the UK for the unnamed individual in the messages, and commends their "Oxford speech". Bannon took part in the Edinburgh conference on November 14, and gave the talk at the Oxford two days later.

Bannon, who is not accused of any wrongdoing, did not reply on the inquiry.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon was one of the president's key advisers in the run up to the 2016 election and during the initial phase of his presidency, but resigned from the administration in August 2017.

He has acknowledged he was making a documentary about Epstein prior to his passing and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of recordings. In a live taping of his podcast recently, he stated: "We're going to release the film, the five-part series, next year - at the start of next year."

But the newly released documents suggest Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier at times seeming to act like a personal assistant.

A few days before the exchange in which Epstein appeared to have arranged a private plane for Bannon, Epstein said: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid travel agent in history ".

Bannon thanked him: "U r quite capable assistant", to which Epstein replied "Massages. Not Included".

Discussing a trip to "AD" in another message, Epstein assured Bannon: "I will ensure you're taken care of."

UK Politics Mentioned in Messages

The released communications also reveal Bannon and Epstein talking about UK politics in 2018.

Earlier on the day of his address at the Oxford Union, Bannon texted Epstein: "I became involved in the Brexit issue this morning with Nigel, Boris and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a reference to Theresa May, the embattled British leader at the time, he continued: "They are trying to move on. May soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think staying as long as you can uk. Ideal- so people get the commitment of your follow through."

Soon after, Epstein inquired: "Can Theresa may remain in power". Bannon replied: "I don't see how BUT the guys over here have no balls" and noted "Boris ; Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; David Davis - somebody has to take charge".

Theresa May was eventually toppled in May 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for the political party told media: "Farage has never been in a gathering with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest that encounter occurred.

The US House of Representatives will decide soon on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its records concerning its investigation into Epstein, who passed away in prison in that year.

Attention in Epstein's relationships with powerful figures was renewed recently after the release of more than 20,000 documents from his archives.

Some of those mentioned the former president, who has consistently rejected any wrongdoing. The president was a acquaintance of Epstein's for years, but says they parted ways in the early 2000s, two years prior to Epstein was initially charged.
