Former Doctor Accused of Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.

The Grave Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

A deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

Breakdown of Charges

The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences comprise:

  • 15 counts of assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Authorities have asked individuals with information to get in touch with the investigating team.
