Renowned Actor Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.

American entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic programs including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA this Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, according to reports.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his family shared in a announcement.

They added that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".

A Prolific Career on Screen

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a social organizer who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, like:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Beyond the Screen

Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.

In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he shared publicly.

Pat Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
