Gunners forward Viktor Gyokeres has been omitted from the new manager's maiden Sweden squad, while Liverpool forward Alexander Isak secured a place

Isak Returns

The Liverpool striker, who hasn't featured from late October due to a groin problem, has been chosen to play in World Cup qualifying games versus the Swiss team (November 15th) and the Slovenian side (November 18th)

Additional England-based Call-ups

  • Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall, who is recovering from a head injury
  • Newcastle wide player Anthony Elanga

Both athletes feature in the England-based players selected by ex- Brighton, Chelsea and West Ham boss the new Swedish coach

The New Manager's Appointment

The English manager took over by Sweden first for an interim period on 20 October, less than a month after leaving from the Hammers

Previous coach the Danish coach was sacked following Sweden's setback against the Kosovan team on 13 October, an outcome that ended automatic qualification in qualifying group out of reach

Present Standing

The Swedish team are currently bottom of their qualifying group having just one point from their opening four games

Should they fail to finish second, they may yet be involved in the World Cup play-offs as a result of their results during the previous Nations League
